A Hot Skwash trunk show is no movie premiere, yet after seeing the pure excitement and exuberance of "Twilight" and "New Moon" fans, it got me thinking. When I saw fans' reactions upon first glimpse of their hero, Edward Cullen (actor Robert Pattinson), I thought about that person-to-person contact with artists. 
Last week we met velvet pumpkin fans up close and personal at both Sofa Table Chair in West Linn, and R. Bloom in Lake Oswego, Oregon. We hauled in new velvets, huge elegant Jacquard pumpkins in holiday colors and little curly-stemmed cuties. What great receptions!
Many thanks to both stores. There is nothing like seeing peoples' faces light up as they meet the artist and get a unique opportunity to ask questions, talk about motivations and share a laugh over coffee or a glass of wine.
